Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (ARSs) are essential enzymes for protein synthesis with evolutionarily conserved enzymatic mechanisms. Moreover, recent new findings on the novel functions of ARSs are rapidly changing the classical view of these enzymes. Their extraordinary diversity of roles can be intelligently reconnoitered to develop novel therapeutics and biomarkers to enable precision and preventive medicine.
